About Me
The Badass Catholic
Welcome to The Badass Catholic, a space where faith, strength, and the human struggle meet in the raw, real, and redemptive reality of life. I'm Hannah, and I’m a Catholic Soldier, and someone who knows firsthand the depths of pain—both physical and mental—that life can throw our way.
This blog began as my own journey to reconcile the seemingly disparate worlds of my Catholic faith and my military service. As a Catholic Studies major starting out college, I never imagined that I'd find myself enlisting in the Army, let alone serving as an officer (in a few short months). Yet, here I am, learning to lead, to endure, and to grow deeper in my relationship with God, even amid the toughest battles.
I’ve struggled with chronic pain and mental health challenges for years, and while the path hasn’t always been easy, I’ve found strength in the one thing that never changes: the Eucharist. In moments of physical or mental anguish, I’ve discovered that my faith, though tested, is my refuge and my courage. There is a unique grace that comes when we choose to press forward in the face of suffering, knowing that Christ Himself walked this painful road and meets us in our lowest points.
At The Badass Catholic, I want to create a space where both Catholic civilians and veterans—those who know the struggle of life’s burdens, whether physical, mental, or spiritual—can find hope, healing, and community. Here, we talk about the hard stuff: the pain of chronic illness, the weight of mental health battles, and the challenges of holding on to faith when life’s circumstances make it feel impossible. But we also talk about the incredible power of the Eucharist, the grace of God that sustains us through the fire, and the hope we find in His promises.
This blog is not just a place to share my story, but a platform to raise awareness and start conversations. I hope to build a community of people who are in the trenches of their own struggles—soldiers, veterans, civilians, and Catholics alike—who can walk alongside one another in solidarity, share resources, and support one another in the shared journey of faith and suffering.
My ultimate goal is to create content and resources that help others navigate their own battles with grace, resilience, and hope. Whether you're battling mental health issues, chronic pain, or the weight of life’s challenges, I want you to know that you are not alone—and there is a way through.
Thank you for being here. You’re part of the journey.
